Hello! Today I’m sharing a card using the Pretty Pink Posh Fall Mug Addition Dies. There are so many super cute autumn icons in this set, all with stitching detail, including a sweet squirrel face. This die set sat on my desk for a while and my plan was to make a cozy, autumn, pumpkin spice-filled mug card. But, you guys, all I could see whenever I looked at the dies was an owl! I knew if I assembled the squirrel just a little differently and used a few dies from the included sunflower and mushroom, I could make my owl. And I think he turned out so adorable! I put him in the center of a fall themed wreath made with the other dies that are included in the set and used one of their newer stencils with white stencil paste on a mustard-colored background. I love the bit of dimension the stencil paste gives for some added interest. To add a little shading to the die cuts, I used my Copic markers and then finished everything with some of the new Pretty Pink Posh Matte Gold Confetti. The cozy, warm and whimsical design of this card turned out even better than I had imagined. Looking at your dies in a different way can really help you get more from them. The squirrel face is super cute but I’m so happy with my little owl. All the steps and supplies for this card are listed below. Thanks for visiting!

STEPS
1.) First, I created the background starting with a mustard-colored cardstock panel and using the Pretty Pink Posh Deco Leaves Stencil with Hero Arts White Paste. I let this dry completely then die cut a stitched border around the card panel and a stitched circle in the top half of the panel. I die cute the same panel twice in white cardstock so that I could stack them for a little dimension before attaching them all to an A2 sized card panel in the same mustard color
2.) Next, I die cut all the elements I needed for the owl and the wreath out of colored cardstock. I used Copic markers to add just a bit of shading to the pieces. For the owl assembly, I used the squirrel face and mushroom cap for the body. The round eyes are the sunflower centers and the wings are the top piece of the mushroom stem. His beak is the inner part of the squirrel ear and the owl ears are the squirrel ears but cut apart and pointed a different way. Then, I just trimmed the scarf down a bit to fit his little body. It actually came together really fast. I attached everything with glue and some thin foam squares for a little dimension in some places.
3.) I pulled a sentiment from my stash and die cut a banner for a stamped greeting. I used foam squares to pop this up a bit. Then, it was just the matte gold embellishments and the card was finished.
