Autumn Shaker Card

I have a few more autumn-inspired cards to share before we dive into all the Christmas goodies that I’ve already been working on. This shaker card features more products from the Pretty Pink Posh September release, including the Acorn Shaker Die. I paired it with the Layered Woodland stencil, my favorite thing from that release, on Lawn Fawn’s Speckled Eggshell cardstock. This cardstock is so beautiful, it looks like handmade paper with it’s little flecks of fibers throughout. It’s perfect for autumn projects. I used Distress Inks for everything, including the die cuts, and I really love the addition of a little purple to the fall color palette of this card. I used a scallop rectangle frame to die cut the stenciled background panel and woodgrain cardstock for the base. STEPS

1.) I used the layered stencils on the Speckled Egg cardstock and Distress Inks for the main panel and then die cut it with a scallop rectangle frame. The card base is an A2 piece of woodgrain cardstock that I darkened with more Distress Inks.

2.) For the acorn shaker die cuts, I used white cardstock and ink blended them with Distress Inks. I double stacked the cap of the acorn for a little dimension before attaching it to the card panel. For the window portion of the shaker, I used a piece of acetate and the shaker material is just traditional sequins from my stash. To pop up the front panel and create the shaker component, I used 1/8″ foam strips from Waffle Flower.

3.) I used the Eggshell cardstock to die cut a few additional leaves, also from Pretty Pink Posh, and ink blended them to match the background stencil. The sentiment is from Hero arts and stamped with brown ink before die cutting and attaching with foam squares. I used my copic markers to color some heart embellishments for a perfect color match. Lastly, I attached everything to a side-fold card base.
