A Magical Cloche-Shaped Card

This card wasn’t supposed to happen. I had no plans for this card. But, I just couldn’t file away the Hero Arts Mushroom and Fern Fancy Dies quite yet. The fiddleheads get me every time. So, with some scrap cardstock pieces, distress inks, and the Waffle Flower Nesting Domes Dies, this magical shaped card came to life. I used the Distress Inks for a bit of shading on the die cuts and placed them in, what I imagine to be, a grassy forest floor. An ink-blended night sky studded with stars and a sentiment banner completes this card design. Of course, all the details are listed below, and as always, thanks for stopping by my happy place!

STEPS

1.) I die cut all my elements from colored cardstock and applied distress inks for some shading and dimension, including the textured cardstock panel I used for the background and night sky. I then added Hero Arts Unicorn White Lacquer on the spots of the mushrooms caps.

2.) Next, I partially die cut my A2 side-fold card base with one of the nesting dome dies, keeping the left side intact to create the base of my shaped card. With glue, I then attached the background sky panel and just the bottom edge of the grass die cuts, leaving the top blades of grass unglued. Now, I could tuck the remaining elements in and around the grasses, securing everything with more glue.

3.) The bottom piece of the cloche is double-stacked and attached with foam squares for some dimension. I die cut the handle twice and glued one not only to the front, but to the inside card panel too, for a more finished look. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it with a banner before using more foam squares to attach it to my card. To finish the card design, I adhered the stars with glue.
