One of my all-time favorite stamps is the Enchanted Forest Set from Papertrey Ink. I’m not sure when this was released but I’ve had it for years and every once in a while I pull it out and start stamping. I adore these tree images so much, they’re whimsical and elegant at the same time – enchanted you could say!
I took cues from the lovely example Papertrey Ink provides and chose similar but more saturated colors, including a few of the new Pawsitively Saturated Ink colors, Kale, Cabbage, and Nutmeg. I built my forest on the most beautiful green cardstock from Concord and 9th that I had splattered with white gouache paint and Frozen Fog Mica Stain. The pink bead I stained with Pawsitively Saturated Ink to perfectly match my tags and added pink and white baker’s twine. One of the best things about these tags is that they are also gift card holders. I’ve had this die for years, too, but have never used it until now.
I hope this project inspires you to look through your stash of stamps and dies and breath new life into some of your favorites. Happy crafting and thanks for stopping by!

STEPS
1.) My first step was to stamp and die cut a ton of the trees in the color palette I chose. I stamped more than I needed so I could pick and choose which ones I liked the best.
2.) Then, I die cut my tags, two in the dark green and two in the mint green. From the mint green tags, I die cut the gift card holders and then glued the backsides together of one dark green and one mint green. Then, I die cut the smaller tag 8 times. I need two small tags per larger tag and I glued the backsides together for these, too, for a clean look. I also die cut the snowy landscape twice from white cardstock and used the large tag die to finish the stitching around the outside.
3.) Next, I stamped my greeting and the “To” and “From” on the smaller tags. I also inked two natural wood beads in pink and let those dry completely. I had white beads so those were ready to go. Then, with thinned white gouache and Frozen Fog Mica Stain, I splattered the dark green sides of the tags using a paint brush. I let these dry completely as well.
4.) Next, I built my forest scene by attaching the snowy landscape first and then adding the trees, tucking some behind the snow and others in front of the snow. I used liquid adhesive for all the elements.
5.) The final touches were to thread the baker’s twine through all three tags and tie them off. Then I added the beads and tied them in place too. The last detail was to glue some white, clay snowflakes to the forest scene.
