A Sew Lovely Birthday

I’m so excited to share with you my second project using the Concord and 9th Sew Lovely Bundle! I made a slimline card because I wanted to use all the things in my design. And I did, plus I had space for a bigger sentiment from Simon Says Stamp!

Like my last project with this bundle, I added pretty patterned papers and woodgrain cardstock for some texture and interest. I also added the thread heart along with the cross-stitched heart and the little round tag with a sub-sentiment that I heat embossed in white.

I love all the little details of this card design, like the tiny pins and the buttons. And those spools of thread are too cute for words. STEPS

1.) Die cut all the elements using a combination of white and colored cardstocks, matte silver cardstock, woodgrain cardstock, and/or patterned papers. I used square nesting dies to die cut the papers “pinned” behind the tags. For the smaller tag, I used the Waffle Flower Postage Collage die for the same postage stamp edge.
2.) On one of the large tags, stamp the cross-stitched heart.
3.) On the small round tag, stamp and heat emboss the sentiment in white. Add a white enamel heart.
4.) Die cut the sentiment multiple times so that they can be stacked for some dimension and more stability.
5.) Stack the needle and the pins with another die cut from white cardstock. These are delicate and the extra stability will be helpful. Add enamel dots to the pins.
6.) Die cut the background using a stitched slimline rectangle and adhere to a slimline card base with glue.
7.) Assemble all the elements and secure with glue.
8.) Arrange the elements on the background panel and secure with foam squares and/or liquid adhesive.
