Celebrating 50 Years with Hero Arts

Hero Arts is celebrating their 50th anniversary this month, and it so happens that some of my mom’s oldest friends will also be celebrating their 50 years together, so I thought it would be fitting to use a collection of coordinating products from Hero Arts as the foundation for their anniversary card. These new to me products are so beautiful and include not only a cling stamp and layering stencils, but also a couple of dies allowing you to cut out a bee or two and some of the flowers. Love it.

I started with the 6″ x 6″ Flowers and Bees Bold Prints cling stamp, heat embossing the image in gold on white cardstock. Then I used the Coloring Layering Roses Stencils to apply a soft color palette of buttercream and sage greens before trimming the panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I was strategic with my trimming so I could die cut two bees from the remaining panel.

Next, I layered the trimmed panel on a matte gold frame die cut using the Honey Bee Stamp’s Lovely Layouts: Party Frames. I used another frame from this set for the center of my card, also die cut from matte gold cardstock, but modified it a bit by die cutting the center area with a nesting circle die. This provided the perfect place for the focal point of my card design, the Number Five and Number Zero Fancy Dies from Hero Arts. I’ve been wanting some of these number dies ever since they were released last year, and I’ve decided I need them all now. I die cut these from matte gold cardstock too and gave them a bit of a highlight by offsetting a white die cut behind them. I overlapped them a bit and attached them with foam squares.

I finished my card with the bees I die cut at the beginning and a sentiment from one of my favorite sentiment sets, the Waffle Flower Essential Celebrations Combo. Then, I added just a few Vintage Pearls from Honey Bee Stamps for embellishment.
