For my blog hop project, I paired the new Construction Addition Stamp Set and the coordinating dies with the new City Buildings Dies for a fun construction zone scene. I loved creating this little scene, and it was fairly quick and easy to put together.
First, I created the background by inking a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card panel with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. Then, I die cut the City Buildings from brown cardstock and the street from black cardstock. I die cut the backer piece for the buildings twice, once from white cardstock and once from light gray cardstock. I secured the white piece behind the brown City Buildings and then layered everything with the gray die cut, slightly offsetting it, to create a dimensional highlight to the buildings.
Next, I stamped the images from the Construction Addition set with black ink. Then, before die cutting them with the coordinating dies, I colored the images with Copic markers. I’ll list all the colors down below.
Then, I die cut the text from the new For You Shadow Die from white cardstock a couple of times, stacked them, and then colored the sentiment with a coordinating Copic marker.
Lastly, before assembling my scene card, I heat embossed some sentiments with white embossing powder. I chose a couple of sentiments from the Sentiment Strips: Birthday Stamp Set for the background and one sentiment from the Construction Addition Stamp Set to put on the street die cut. Then, before attaching the stamped images with foam squares, I attached the City Buildings and the street to the background panel. I added “clouds” to the sky by die cutting the tiny dirt mound intended to fill the bucket on the new Big Excavator Die Set a few times and then attached the For You sentiment to finish up my card design..
