Time to Celebrate!

Hooray! My crafty dreams have come true – I am officially a part of the amazing Pretty Pink Posh Design Team! It’s been an honor to guest design the last few months, and I couldn’t be happier to join this group of talented ladies. To celebrate our new design team, there are two $100 gift certificates up for grabs! Head over to the Pretty Pink Posh blog and Instagram page for your chance to win.

The project I’m sharing today is a 4th of July-inspired Big Celebration Cupcake, to celebrate not only my design team announcement but, of course, independence day too! Let’s get started!

I started by die cutting the largest Stitched Torn Rectangle from kraft cardstock and then stenciling the layered Half Stars Stencils with white pigment ink. I attached this slightly askew to a red gingham- patterned paper trimmed to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

Next, I die cut the elements I wanted to use in the Big Celebration Cupcake set from colored cardstock and matte silver cardstock. I assembled the die cuts if necessary and then added light shading to most of them with either alcohol ink markers or Distress Inks. Nothing fancy. Then I attached most of the die cuts to my card with foam squares, but a few were attached directly to the background with liquid adhesive. The cupcake has a rounded appearance because I used regular foam squares in the center and thin foam squares along the edges.

To finish my card design, I heat embossed the greeting and sentiment strip with white embossing powder on kraft cardstock. I used the Celebrate from the Birthday Scripts Stamp Set and die cut it with the coordinating die. Then I used one of the Sentiment Strips Dies to die cut a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips: Birthday Stamp Set. I attached these with a combination of foam strips and liquid adhesive. Lastly, I decorated my cupcake with confetti using Americana Clay Confetti and the confetti die included in the Big Celebration Cupcake set. The final detail was to add a few white gel pen highlights.

That finishes up my celebratory cupcake design. I hope you follow along as I create more inspiration projects using all the fabulous things from Pretty Pink Posh. Below you can check out the products I used for this project and my Supply page for a list of things I use on a day-to-day basis. Thanks for stopping by today!
