Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing some Christmas in July inspiration, featuring just some of the amazing things in the latest Waffle Flower release. I paired the new Poinsettia Die -n- Stencil with some beautiful patterned paper from the Season’s Greetings Paper Pad to create this bold and bright card design for my version of clean and simple. And I love how it turned out.
I started by stenciling the poinsettia layers on white cardstock. The stencils are ingeniously designed so that you can use the five stencils to create a single-layer image, or you can stencil the three poinsettia layers separately and then die cut them with the coordinating dies, which is what I did for this project. I used a variety of different inks (linked below) for my three layers and then assembled them using foam squares for some dimension.
Next, I chose the striped patterned paper and layered it with coordinating light blue cardstock for the base of my card design. To create the stitched panels for the poinsettia, I used the Mini Slimline Stitched Rectangles and a partial die cutting technique to shorten the die cuts a bit, to die cut white cardstock and light blue cardstock. I layered these on the striped background before adding the poinsettia.
The final step was to die cut the Merry Christmas Print Die from a bright royal blue cardstock to coordinate with the striped patterned paper and the outline from white cardstock. Then, I used foam squares to attach the assembled greeting to my card design.
That completes my bold and bright card design, featuring some of the amazing new things from the Christmas in July Waffle Flower release. My everyday supply list is here, and the project-specific items are listed below. Thanks for stopping by!
