Stitched Ice Cream Cone with Spellbinders

Some days call for a little something sweet! And this yummy project might be just what you need- plus it’s calorie free 😂 I combined products from some of my favorite companies with Spellbinders June ’24 Stitching Die of the Month set to create this sweet ice cream parlor treat.

I started with die cutting the Mama Elephant Striallop Diagonal Creative Cuts two times, once from white cardstock and once from pink. I alternated the stripes, inlaying them inside the white scallop frame on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ white cardstock panel. Then I used a scripty “sweet” text stamp from Lawn Fawn to repeatedly stamp the pink stripes using white pigment ink.

Next, I die cut the ice cream cone elements from ivory and kraft cardstock and then inked them for some depth and shading. I stacked the elements with another die cut for added stability before stitching them with three strands of coordinating floss colors. For the cherries, I die cut them from red and green cardstock and inked them too for a little shading. Then, I assembled the cone, attached it to the striped background with liquid adhesive, and attached the cherries with foam squares.

To finish up my card design, I die cut one of the sentiments included in the Spellbinders set from white cardstock, layered it with the banner die cut from red cardstock, and attached it with foam squares. For a thin red border around my design, I attached the card front to an A2 red cardstock panel and then finished by adding some pretty Pink Blush Pearls from Pretty Pink Posh and white gel pen highlights to the cherries.

And that completes this sweet treat featuring the Spellbinders June ’24 Stitching Die of the Month. My everyday supplies can be found here, and supplies specific to this project are listed and linked below. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
