I’m so excited to be joining the super talented team over at Papertrey Ink for their latest release that’s full of amazing fall and Halloween-themed products. My inspiration project showcases the gorgeous Measured in Abundance Stamp Set that features the most beautiful fall images. I piled all of my stamped fall goodies on a background made with the new Handmade Quilt Cover Plate and finished the design with a sentiment from the This Is Big Sentiments: Thankful set. Follow along as I take you through the steps of making this autumn beauty featuring the new Papertrey Ink August Release products.
I started by running the Handmade Quilt Cover Plate through my die cutting machine with navy blue cardstock before die cutting the panel with the largest Skinny Postage Frame Die. Then, I splattered the frame and the panel with Salvaged Patina and Forest Moss Distress Oxide Inks for a little distressing. I mounted these to an A2 kraft woodgrain cardstock panel that I darkened with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and distressed with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink.
Next, I stamped the images I wanted from the Measured in Abundance Stamp Set and the larger pumpkin and vine from the Fall Harvest Stamp Set using black ink on white cardstock. Although Papertrey Ink’s stamps are already extremely detailed, with multiple layering steps that give you plenty of dimension, I decided to use two to three colors for most of the stamps. I used a blending brush directly on the stamps to blend the colors before stamping, creating even more shading and depth. Then, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images. I stacked most of the images with another blank die cut giving them a little more weight and dimension.
To assemble the card, I used foam squares and foam tape of varying heights, so things would lay nicely and not bulge anywhere, to attach the images to my quilt background panel. My last step was to stamp and die cut the Thankful greeting and the sub-sentiments with black ink on white cardstock before attaching them to my card design. I used foam strips on the Thankful die cut where it overhung the top pumpkin and liquid adhesive elsewhere. My final step was to add a touch of Antique Linen Distress Ink to the face of the scale and the sentiments to tone down the stark white cardstock.
That completes my inspiration project for the Papertrey Ink August Release featuring just some of the beautiful fall-themed products that are now available.
