C9 Let’s Get Together

Hello! Today I’m sharing a card that’s perfect to send to someone you’ve been missing, someone you haven’t seen in a while and probably the same person that you keep making and breaking plans with! I used the new Grocery Greetings set from Concord & 9th‘s latest release called Classic Comforts. This versatile set comes with many different sentiments so you can easily customize this design to become a get well or thank you card. Keep reading to get more details about creating this card, including a project-specific supply list. And you can always find my favorite everyday supplies here. Thanks so much for stopping by to read about my latest project. See you again soon!

Here is a snapshot of the main supplies I used. In the top right corner you’ll see my Concord & 9th cardstock scraps that I hoard. I save every piece!

SUPPLIES

Concord & 9th Grocery Greetings Bundle
My Favorite Things City Block Background Stamp
Hero Arts Wet Cement Core Ink Pad
Lawn Fawn Paper Bag Cardstock
Assorted Concord & 9th Cardstock

I started by stamping the background on an A2 white cardstock panel using the City Block stamp and Hero Arts Wet Cement ink. I love this ink color because it’s a warm gray that almost reads brown, making it perfect for when you don’t want the background to compete with the other design elements.

Next, I got started on the die cutting. Other than Concord and 9th cardstock, I used Lawn Fawn’s Paper Bag cardstock for the grocery bag, vellum for the wine glasses, and a pale yellow cardstock from my scrap bin.

The small tag is from an older Spellbinders set that I used to heat emboss the Miss You sentiment in white. I also heat embossed the main sentiment in white on the front of the grocery bag die cut.

Finally, I assembled the die cuts and then attached them to the background panel. I started with the grocery bag, attaching it with foam squares, and then tucking the other elements in and around the bag, securing them with either liquid adhesive or foam squares.
We all know vellum can be challenging to adhere without visible adhesive. What I did was double up the vellum, inserting the wine between the two vellum pieces, and securing the vellum pieces with Simon Says Stamp Micro Dots. Then to attach them to my card design, I used more Micro Dots and a very thin foam strip behind the stem of the wine glass in the foreground. Worked great!

And that’s all there is to creating this fun Grocery Greetings card!
