Peace on Earth

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! Christmas in July is in full swing, friends, and this year, I have quite a few holiday-themed projects to share throughout the month, like this one I created with a new-to-me Pretty Pink Posh die set called Love From Afar. I paired this beautiful set with a sparkly Winter Words text background on kraft cardstock that I embellished with winter white snowflakes. Keep reading to get more details about my latest Christmas in July card, including a supply list!

PRETTY PINK POSH SUPPLIES

Love From Afar Dies
Winter Words Stencil
Holiday Mug Addition Dies – greenery
Winter Mug Dies – snowflake
Winter Snowflakes Clay Confetti

OTHER SUPPLIES

Ranger Simon Hurley Cookie Dough Astro Paste
Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt Cardstock
C9 Wheat, Lakefront, Parsley and Cranberry Cardstock
Distress Inks Antique Linen – shading on the Vanilla Malt cardstock
Distress Ink Uncharted Mariner – shading on the Lakefront cardstock

I started by creating the text background for my design. On an A2 kraft cardstock panel, I used Cookie Dough Astro Paste with the Winter Words stencil. The Cookie Dough color looks amazing on the kraft cardstock, and I know I’ll be using that combo again. I set that aside to dry while I got to work die cutting the other elements of my card design.

I used colored cardstock, listed above, to die cut most of the elements and then added light shading to them. I die cut the snowflakes and the doves from plain white cardstock and skipped any shading for these as well as for the greenery because I wanted the snowflakes to be stark white, and the doves and greenery are so small I felt they didn’t need it. Plus, I attached the dove wings with a small piece of a foam square, which gave the doves a little dimension and created some natural shading.

After assembling the die cuts, I attached them to my stenciled background panel, adding a few white clay snowflakes for embellishment.

And that’s it for this Christmas in July card featuring some new-to-me goodies from Pretty Pink Posh! Thanks again for stopping by!
