Lush Forest Floor

Welcome! I’m finally getting around to playing with some things that have been sitting in my inbox for far too long. And while I should have reached for some new Christmas things from Waffle Flower or Concord & 9th so I could wrap up my holiday cardmaking, I just couldn’t resist this Forest Floor die set from Hello Bluebird’s Fall 2025 release. My inspiration for this striking card was some gorgeous vintage mushroom illustrations I saw over on Etsy, and this die set had almost everything I needed to create this card. Take a peek at my supply list below, and then I’ll walk you through how this card came together!

I started this card by die-cutting the mushrooms, leaves, and greenery from white cardstock and ink blended each piece using the inks listed above. I used multiple ink colors for each diecut to create rich blends and used my smallest blending brushes to add shading. I also added some interest and texture to a few pieces with ink spatter and then assembled the mushrooms and the small flowers.

Next, for my background panel, I die-cut the woodgrain texture and the ric rac frame from black cardstock and then glued the frame to the woodgrain texture panel. I arranged the ink-blended diecuts on my background panel and attached them with either glue, thin foam squares, or regular foam squares depending on their placement. My last step was to add the sentiment that I die-cut from ivory cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my card featuring the Forest Floor Die set form Hello Bluebird. Happy crafting!
