Pretty Pink Posh Release Day + XOXO Shaker

It’s release day over at Pretty Pink Posh, and it’s full of lovely Valentine’s Day and lucky St. Patrick’s Day goodies! Today I’m sharing some Valentine’s Day inspiration featuring many of the new items that are available, including the XOXO Word Shaker dies. This die set works so well with the other new Valentine’s Day items, like the Love You Shadow dies and the Valentine Banner Greetings, making it easy to coordinate and combine products to create the perfect card for your Valentine! Take a peek at my supplies, and then we’ll get started!

My first step was to create the shaker element. I started by creating my own patterned paper to use for the background and the top frame of the shaker element. To do this, I stenciled the Love Words across a piece of light blue cardstock with a darker shade of blue. I set these aside and then die-cut the frame piece again, 8 times, from plain light blue cardstock and stacked them all together to create the walls of the shaker. Next I die-cut just the outer XOXO to be the base of the shaker and attached the stenciled background piece and the shaker walls to it. The final steps for the shaker element were to add the Love is Kind shaker beads before attaching a piece of acetate to the top of the shaker walls and finally attaching the stenciled frame piece over the acetate for a finished look.

My next step was to create the card base by die-cutting the largest Pinking Rectangle from gingham patterned paper and layering it with a white cardstock panel trimmed slightly larger than the pinking rectangle and finally a pink A2 cardstock panel. I attached the shaker element to the card base and moved on to finishing up my card design.

I die-cut “love” from the Love You Shadow dies from red cardstock and added it to multiple shadow diecuts that I die-cut from white cardstock. I attached this across the shaker element and added a sub-sentiment underneath the shadow text with a heat-embossed Valentine Banner Greeting. The finishing details were to add multiple heart diecuts.

Thank you so much for checking out my XOXO Shaker card inspiration featuring many of the new Valentine’s Day products from the latest Pretty Pink Posh release! Happy crafting!
