Hi crafty friends! I’ve been working on a lot of Valentine-themed cards, including this one featuring Waffle Flower’s Nesting Postage Collage Peony Stencil. This stencil was part of a recent sneak peek, and I’m obsessed! Peonies are my favorite flower, and this layered stencil is stunning! To round out my design, I combined the stencil with other coordinating nesting postage collage goodies as well as the Print and Script With Love die set. Check out my supply list. and then we’ll get started!

I started this project by stenciling the peonies on white cardstock. There are four layers to this stencil, giving you amazing depth and dimension to the floral images. And to really boost the dimension, I blended my darkest ink just along the lines where shadows would naturally fall between the petals.
After stenciling, I die-cut the image with the coordinating Nesting Postage Collage straight-edge die and layered it with the postage-edged rectangle diecut. Next I stenciled the airmail border onto a white A2 card panel and attached the stenciled image in the center.
To wrap things up, I added a greeting and a heart embellishment. First I stamped the “Hello” on white cardstock with cherry ink and die-cut it with a small postage-edge rectangle using a partial die-cutting technique to shorten it up a bit. Then I die-cut the “love” word, inking the text with more cherry ink and leaving the shadow piece white. I attached these to my design and finished by adding a stamped and die-cut heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my latest Valentine’s Day-themed card design featuring some of the newer Nesting Postage Collage goodies from Waffle Flower. Happy crafting!
