Hi friends! Can you believe the spring release from Pretty Pink Posh is here already?? We could all use some signs of hope and spring renewal right now, so let’s take a look at some of the springtime and Easter-themed goodies in the latest release! Today I’m sharing a beautiful shaker card featuring the new Watering Can and Daffodil Shaker sets. I chose to make just the watering can a shaker and filled it with pretty Pastel Dreams shaker beads. I paired these new die sets with one of my favorite things from the release, the Mini Checker stencil. The small scale of the checker design makes it the perfect subtle backdrop for almost any card design. Check out the supplies I used for this pretty springtime card, and then we’ll get started!

My first step was to create the shaker element. I used the Watering Can dies to die-cut the frame piece six times and the backer piece once from lavender cardstock. I added shading to the top frame piece and the backer piece with a darker coordinating ink color. Then I stacked the frame pieces together to be the walls of the shaker, and before securing the frames together with glue, I sandwiched a piece of acetate between the top two layers to be the window of the shaker. Finally, I filled the shaker with the pastel beads and finished up by attaching the backer piece to the stacked frames.

Next I die-cut the components for the daffodils from colored cardstock and plain white cardstock. I added subtle shading to the yellow centers of the daffodils with a darker coordinating ink color and then assembled the flowers using foam squares for the centers to give them a little dimension and regular glue for the other components.
For the background, I first die-cut the largest Pinking Rectangle from white cardstock and then masked the edges before stenciling on the Mini Checker pattern with yellow ink. Then I layered the Pinking Rectangle onto an A2 yellow cardstock panel.

To finish things up, I first attached the Watering Can shaker element to the background before tucking in the flowers. Then I added the “Hello” greeting that I die-cut from white cardstock and a sentiment strip with a sub-sentiment heat-embossed with white embossing powder on more lavender cardstock. Finally, I attached the card front to a side-fold card base.
