A Springtime Hello with Waffle Flower

Happy Friday, friends! Today I’m sharing another card featuring some of the products from Waffle Flower‘s Spring Time release. I used the Postage Collage Egg Hunt Stencil and the coordinating Egg Hunt Icons Dies to create this charming birdhouse design. The Egg Hunt stencil has numerous spring and Easter-themed images that will fill in your regular Postage Collage die, but I chose to stencil just the birdhouse image two times, with one of the images reversed. Take a peek at my supplies, and then we’ll take a closer look at how this card came together!

My first step was to stencil the birdhouse image two times on white cardstock. The first time I stenciled the layers the intended way (the top image) using lighter ivory and tan inks for the birdhouse. The second time, I flipped each stencil over before stenciling to get the reverse image and used slightly darker tan and brown inks. It’s a small detail but a great little technique to stretch your supplies.

Next, I die-cut the Meandering Texture die from a kraft cardstock panel trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I love this texture pattern and thought it was the perfect backdrop for this design because it reminds me of butterfly trails. Before moving on, I lightly blended Gingerbread ink around the edges of the panel, and to finish up the background, I added a white postage-edged frame to the center of the panel.

With the background done, I move on to die-cutting the few elements I needed for my design. I started with white cardstock and inked the die-cuts with the colors listed in the supplies. Finally, it was time to assemble everything and finish up.

I attached the stenciled birdhouse images on top of the frame and then embellished my design with the inked die-cuts. I added a simple die-cut “Hello” for the greeting, and that finished my card front.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see this charming springtime card design I created using products from Waffle Flower’s latest release. Happy crafting!
