Winter Wishes with Pretty Pink Posh

Pretty Pink Posh has a new release coming the first week of January and it inspired me to pull out some of my favorite products from last year. I think this Mitten Shaker Die is so adorable. The first time I used it I made a shaker card, and it made my Top 9 on Instagram this year!

I kept things a little simpler this time and didn’t make a shaker, but I still love how it turned out. I combined it with the Layered Mitten Stencils and white puff embossing powder for the background. For the mitten, I used the newer Deco Leaves Stencil. I love the smaller pattern of the Deco Leaves and I think it has kind of a knitted vibe to it, so I thought it was perfect for the mitten. I used the same aqua colors as the background and added some glitter cardstock for a little winter sparkle. The Winter Wishes Script Die and some Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes wrapped up this winter card.

Step by step instructions are listed below along with all the supplies. Thanks for stopping by my little blog space!

STEPS

1.) Using the Layered Mitten Stencils, stencil the background on a light blue A2 card panel. I used Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sea Foam and Surf for the first two layers. For the third layer, use a finger dauber to apply clear embossing ink. Heat emboss with white puff embossing powder.

2.) Die cut the background panel with the largest Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles and attach to a light blue panel die cut with the largest Honey Bee Stamp’s Scallop A2 Card Frame with liquid adhesive.

3.) Die cut the mitten from the same light blue cardstock and use Sea Foam ink to ink blend the top half of the mitten. Use the Deco Leaves stencil to stencil the pattern in Surf on the top half.

4.) Die cut the mitten and the snowflake from glitter cardstock and cut the bottom puffy portion from the rest of the mitten. Glue this piece and the snowflake to the original stenciled mitten for a sparkly addition. Die cut the smaller Lawn Fawn snowflakes from glitter cardstock too.

5.) Attach the mitten to the background panel, slightly offset, with liquid adhesive.

6.) Die cut the “Winter Wishes” from more light blue cardstock three times. Use Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Marine to color one of the die cuts and stack another layer behind it, securing it with glue. The last layer will be stacked with the other ones, but only where it doesn’t overlap the mitten. I cut those portions of the die cuts off before gluing this last layer. That way it will flat against the mitten. Use liquid adhesive to attach the stacked die cuts to the card panel.

7.) With glue, attach the smaller snowflakes to the card panel, tucking some under the mitten. Adhere everything to an A2 top-fold card base with more glue.
