Spellbinders Stitched Wall Hanging

Spellbinders‘ April 2024 club kits are some of my favorite kits so far. Each month I get the Stitching, Large, and Small Dies of the Month, and I was so excited to see that they were all stitching-themed. I love to cross stitch, so these kits really spoke to me. I reached for the Stitched Wall Hanging – the Stitching Die of the Month first to create this sweet floral card.

To start, I stamped ivory cardstock with the Sketchy Lines Background Stamp from Simon Says Stamp using beige ink. To loosely resemble the look of linen fabric, I shifted the cardstock a couple of times and stamped again to get more lines closer together. I used this as the base of the hoop assembly, which I die cut from woodgrain cardstock. I chose matte gold cardstock for the small hanger piece at the top.

Next, I die cut multiple flowers and greenery pieces from Concord and 9th’s colored cardstock. I doubled up the cardstock on all the stitching die cuts for added stability and chose coordinating embroidery floss to stitch them using three strands. The March 2024 Large Die of the Month has a greenery die that I love, so I pulled that into my floral design too. I attached all the die cuts with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam squares.

To finish my card design, I added one of the awesome stitched sentiments from the April 2024 Small Die of the Month kit and tiny buttons die cut from woodgrain cardstock that I added a little floss detail to. Then, I attached everything to a layered background. I used the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frame Die for the polka dot-patterned paper layered on a simple A2 stitched rectangle for the Sprout green base layer.

That finishes today’s card project. A list of all the supplies I used can be found below. Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I changed the format of my blog a bit. I’m omitting the detailed instructions for now, allowing me more time to not only create but, fingers crossed, to create videos!
