Pretty Pink Posh Valentine Release Instagram Hop + Love Sugar Cookies

Hello friends! I have a super-sweet project to share with you today as inspiration for Day 1 of the Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Hop and giveaway. Join us over on Instagram as we celebrate the first release of the year, a release bursting with the loveliest Valentine crafting goodies, like the Love Word Shaker set that I used for today’s project. I love the Pretty Pink Posh shaker dies because I always feel like I’m getting two for one; you can use them to create shakers or just as regular dies, like I did here to create “sugar cookies.” I paired the cookies with a new stencil perfect for a little something sweet, the Layered Heart Sprinkles set.

Here are all the Pretty Pink Posh products featured in this project:

❤️Love Word Shaker Dies – New!
🍪Valentine Cake Pops Dies – New! Used the small scripty “love” die
❤️Layered Heart Sprinkles Stencils – New!
🍪Eyelet Rectangle Dies
❤️Sentiment Strips: Valentine Stamp Set
🍪Sentiment Strips Dies
❤️Hugs and Kisses Clay Confetti – New!
🍪Rainbow Bright Clay Confetti

Keep reading to follow along with the steps to creating this sweet Valentine’s Day card. You’ll find any other project-specific supplies listed in the description below, and you can find my favorite everyday supplies here. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and be sure to head over to Instagram to see all the amazing inspiration showcasing the lovely new release!

My first step was to create the background. I die cut the largest eyelet rectangle from white cardstock and masked the edges before stenciling it with the Layered Heart Sprinkles. I used Tumbled Glass and Lumberjack Plaid Distress Inks for my color choices. I removed the masks and mounted the stenciled panel on a light blue A2 cardstock panel.

With the background done, I got to work on the elements of my project. I die cut the main Love Word Shaker die from kraft cardstock to be the base of the “cookies” and added some shading around the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Next I die cut the inner pieces from white cardstock to be the “icing.” To create red icing, I inked the die cuts with a combination of Worn Lipstick and Lumberjack Plaid Distress Inks and Cherry Pawsitively Saturated Ink. To create the white icing, I just added shading with Antique Linen Distress Inks.

I assembled the cookies and attached them to my background panel before adding some cookie embellishments. I used clay confetti pieces for one cookie and a small scripty “Love” die cut from the Valentine Cake Pops set. Finally, I stamped sentiments with Hero Arts Cherry red ink and die cut them with a sentiment strip die before attaching them with foam squares.
