Happy Friday, friends! It’s officially “restock your birthday card stash” season, and I’m starting with a full panel shaker card featuring an emboss resist technique. I used some fabulous things from Honey Bee Stamps that just happened to pair well with a couple of things from Simon Says Stamp. Keep reading to follow along with the steps to creating this rainbow-blended beauty! You’ll also find project-specific supplies listed below, while you’ll find my favorite everyday supplies here. Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking the time to read about my latest project. Have a great weekend!

My first step was to create the background panel. I used an emboss resist technique so I could ink blend over the stamped background by first stamping the Celebrate text background on white cardstock with clear embossing ink and then heat embossing it with white embossing powder. Next I ink blended the Distress Ink colors I chose across the entire panel, starting in the middle and on the diagonal with Picked Raspberry and then working out from there on both sides. Lastly, I buffed away any ink that might be sitting on the white heat-embossed text image and then die cut the panel with the largest Wonky Rectangle for a stitched detail along the edges.
My next step was to create the shaker. I used leftover plastic from some packaging, trimmed it to slightly larger than the background panel, and then secured it on the reverse side on only three sides with double-sided tape. Then before sealing the last side, I added the star confetti. This is super easy, and it looks great!
With the background and shaker completed, I focused on the rest of the elements for my card design. First I die cut the two largest layers from the Lovely Layouts set from white cardstock and mounted the shaker on the largest one for a subtle star detail around the shaker. Next, I die cut a rectangle from the center of the second largest layer to create a frame and then attached it to the front of my shaker panel. Lovely Layers! Then I die cut the balloons and the sentiment from white cardstock and ink blended them to coordinate with the background. I doubled up the layers for some dimension, tied some silver cord on the balloons for the strings, and then attached everything to my shaker panel. I used foam squares for the balloons and liquid adhesive for the sentiment. My final step was to mount everything to a coordinating blue cardstock panel trimmed to slightly larger than A2 size.

Wonderful and such playful colours xx
