Hello, and thanks for stopping by! Pretty Pink Posh has a new fall collection, and today I’m sharing one of the new stamp sets, Fall Scarecrows. I used one of the adorable scarecrow images as my focal point and created my own patterned paper for the background panel using one of the wheat stamps. I colored the images with Copic markers and added a simple sentiment strip to finish my design. Take a peek at the supplies I used, and then we’ll get started!

My first step was to create the background panel. Starting with a piece of yellow cardstock trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 inches, I stamped the wheat image all across the panel with Spicy Mustard ink for a tone-on-tone design. I tried to stamp evenly across the panel, but I knew my next step would be to die-cut a Pinking Oval from the center so it didn’t have to be so precise. Plus, this is a homemade card; it’s not supposed to be perfect.😊 After die-cutting the Pinking Oval from the center of the panel, I inlaid a light blue oval to be the background for my little scene and attached the whole panel to a top-fold card base.
My next step was to stamp all the images on white cardstock with black ink and color them with the markers I have listed above. Before die-cutting the images with the coordinating dies, I added some decorative details to the scarecrow’s shirt and patch with a white gel pen. After die-cutting, I used a black gel pen on the eyes of the scarecrow and the crows.
Time to bring it all together. I attached the colored and die-cut images to my background panel using mostly thin foam squares and a little liquid adhesive where needed. I tucked the scarecrow into the wheat field and positioned the crows so one was flying into the scene to meet up with the other crow perched on the scarecrow’s hat. Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment onto a gray sentiment strip with white embossing powder and attached it under my scene.
