Hero Arts October 2026 Super Hero Kit

Hi friends! I’m so glad you stopped by! Today I’m sharing a bold and beautiful autumn-inspired card I designed using products from the October Super Hero Kit from Hero Arts. Using two of the die sets from the kit, I created a seed packet as my focal point and adorned it with big, bold sunflowers and multiple sentiments. To round out the design, I paired it with a textured basketweave background panel and an additional seed packet that I tucked behind the original one. Take a peek at the supplies I used, and then we’ll get started!

Background Panel

I started with a piece of Tuscan cardstock trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 inches and embossed it with a basketweave pattern using an embossing folder. After embossing the panel, I lightly brushed a Spicy Mustard ink cube across the embossing to highlight the texture. Then to finish up the background panel, I used a fan brush to splatter it with Crooked Broomstick Mica Stain and Ground Espresso Distress Ink.

Seed Packets and Sunflowers

The seed packets come together quickly with just a few die-cuts. I chose Speckled Eggshell cardstock as the base of both seed packets and Truffle cardstock for the inside border of the main seed packet. For the inside panel of the main seed packet, I used large blending brushes to ink-blend Broken China and Uncharted Mariner on white cardstock. Then I assembled the seed packets and secured the pieces with a liquid adhesive.

For the components of the sunflowers, I chose Sunkissed, Tuscan, Truffle, and Fern cardstock and assembled the pieces as is, with no shading. There is so much detail in the die-cuts; I felt they didn’t need anything extra. I attached the sunflower blooms to the main seed packet using liquid adhesive for one and thin foam squares for the other. The stems and leaves are attached with a liquid adhesive so there would be no extra bulk when attaching the sentiments.

Sentiments and Finishing Touches

I used the banner and the sentiment strips included in the Seed Packet die set for my design, and the actual greetings and sentiments are from the Nurture Daily stamp set. With the help of my Misti, I curved the word “Kindness” to fit on the banner that I die-cut from Speckled Eggshell cardstock and heat-embossed it with brass embossing powder. The sentiment strips are die-cut from Paper Bag cardstock and heat-embossed with cream embossing powder. I positioned the sentiments and secured them with liquid adhesive. For the finishing touches, I added matte gold pearls to one of the banners and a few sunflower seed die-cuts spilled out from the packets. With all the elements of my card completed, it was ready to be attached to a card base.
