Hello! Today I’m sharing another card using this month’s My Monthly Super Hero from Hero Arts. This time I created a full panel shaker card using the Citrus Shaker Die Set. You can create a shaker with the lemons and the little shaker bit dies that are included, but I chose to use the lemon dies as regular dies and made the whole card a shaker with a gorgeous stamped background using the Arched Tiled Stamp Set. A postage-edged frame and a few postage-themed details from the Mini Notecard Die Set from the January kit give this card a little something extra. My first step was to create the shaker panel. I die-cut the postage frame from white cardstock and then stamped the center portion with the background image. I centered the stamped panel onto an A2 Saffron cardstock panel and then added the white frame. Next, I die-cut the postage frame five times, stacked and secured them with glue, and added them to the first frame on the background panel. I used the small dies included in the set to create cute shaker bits and added them to the panel. Finally, I sandwiched a piece of acetate between the top frame and one more frame that I had die-cut.
My next step was to die-cut all the other elements for my card design. I left the die-cut pieces as is and didn’t add any contrast or shading with inks because the set comes with dies that create a shadow and highlight detail for the lemons. I chose to use the flowers from the Citrus Frame Die Set because I liked the detailed centers better than the ones included in this set. After assembling the pieces, I arranged and secured the die-cuts on my shaker front. I used strong double-sided tape to secure most of the pieces but used foam squares to secure the flowers. To finish up my card design, I added a couple of postage-themed icons and then added a heat-embossed and die-cut sentiment.
