Boo to You!

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by today! I’m excited to share another enchanting Halloween card featuring products from the latest Pretty Pink Posh collection. I combined the new Boo Word Shaker Dies and the Halloween Silhouettes Stencil with the previously released Stitched Ghosts for a spooky, cute card design. Check out the supplies I used, and then I’ll walk you through how this card came together.

OTHER SUPPLIES

Concord & 9th Cardstock: Creamsicle
SSS Cardstock: So Very Black and Slate
Distress Ink: Black Soot
SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink: Cantaloupe
Spellbinders Onyx Silk Spatter Medium

My first step was to trim a piece of Creamsicle cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches for the background panel and stencil it using the Halloween Silhouettes stencil and Cantaloupe ink. The Cantaloupe ink is just slightly darker than the Creamsicle cardstock, giving the panel a versatile tone-on-tone effect, a great backdrop to any design, I think. Then I blended a little Black Soot around the edges of the panel for a spookier feel. Secondly, I stenciled the silhouettes again, but this time on Slate cardstock with Black Soot ink, and set it aside while I finished up the background.
My next step was to die-cut the Boo word from the top and the bottom of the Creamsicle background panel, set the positive Boo Word pieces aside, and then attached the negative piece to a piece of black cardstock trimmed to 4.5 x 5.75 inches, making the finished card design slightly larger than A2.

At this point, I inlaid the Boo Words back into the negative spaces but layered them with another die-cut first so they would sit higher than the background, giving them a little more definition. Then I die-cut another Boo Word to fill the center area, but this time from the Slate cardstock that I stenciled earlier. I tried to align the die-cutting so it would fit seamlessly with the elements that I had already stenciled and assembled. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close! Before attaching the third Boo Word with foam squares, I stacked it with two die-cuts for added dimension and overlapped the other two inlaid words. To finish the panel, I spattered it with a black splatter medium.

Lastly, I added a trio of Stitched Ghosts and a white heat-embossed sentiment die-cut with the coordinating die. A scattering of black clay stars for embellishment was the finishing touch.

Thanks again for stopping by to read about my spooky cute Halloween card that I created using new products from the latest Pretty Pink Posh collection. Happy Crafting!
